Your TA is your deepest core muscle, often referred to as your internal corset. Responsible for stabilizing your lumbar spine, this is arguably your most important core muscle, and also the hardest to find. If your TA is weak, then your overworked back muscles will often carry the load intended for your core, increasing the strain on your lumbar spine and leading to back pain.
